The Beach

So it was fathers day yesterday and my father wanted to go to the beach. When we arrived at the beach the air was frigid. My father is also a sailor on top of being the best father ever. So he is very witty about wind. He guided us around a bend at the beach which made it so there was a cliff between us and the wind. I was thoroughly enjoying myself now, looking at rocks and shells, one of my many hobbies. I was determined to find a whole sand dollar. I found my first and was enthralled. I kept walking looking at all the different beautiful rocks and shells, then I found my second whole sand dollar. On the first leg of our walk I had found four. I was very proud of them, so I showed them to my father and mother, then continued to look on the way back. So my mom was on the look out to now. She had spotted one, so I leaned down to pick it up, but instead of picking up a sand dollar, I realized that I had just smeared all over my finger tips some fresh seagull poop. What a lovely thing do have happen to you right? Well after I washed my hands clean of the poop, my luck was returned. I continued to find to more whole sand dollars, but I had to pay for my good luck twice that day. When our walk back was almost over I stepped on something, I still do not know what it was, but it jabbed into my foot and made walking almost unbearable. By some miracle when we got to the car and I was comfortably seated my mother remarked on how she remembered putting tweezers in her purse. I guess it really was my luck day. A total of six whole sand dollars and tweezers to end my pain. It was truly a lovely day at the beach. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!
